Hi, my name is Dipa Nugraha. I am a lecturer at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. I am now taking my PhD at Monash University Australia. When I came to IEDUC Bandung, my IELTS scores were under 5. I was sent to IEDUC Bandung by Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS). UMS had this program, sending lecturers to IEDUC Bandung, to help their lecturers cope IELTS test. We all know that a good IELTS score is essential for studying abroad. UMS believed that making their lecturers elligible for studying abroad was important. That was how I enrolled to IEDUC Bandung’s a month program [?].
Quite frankly, I didn’t believe that IEDUC Bandung would be able to elevate my IELTS score significantly. The scores I had were outcomes from more than one test as I kept self-learning between the tests. If I failed to overcome IELTS tests, why should I be optimistic that my enrolment to a program at IEDUC Bandung would pay me success?
Well, to make this short, I joined the class. I attended the class with my seven colleagues. We followed the instructions and tips given by the instructors. We even managed after-class sessions to improve our confidence in doing IELTS test. IEDUC Bandung provided us their classroom and cd player to conduct these self-managed sessions. They were very helpful.
Yes, we gave IEDUC Bandung’s one month program a shot. It worked! Three of us are now studying abroad. One is in Sydney (Straya), one is in Wellington (NZ), and the other one is me in Clayton, Victoria, at Monash University
Thank you IEDUC Bandung!

I was required to get a sky-high goal of scoring 8 in each IELTS Band (listening, reading, writing, speaking), which was as inconceivable as flight for a wingless mortal man. After undertaking two IELTS and falling short on the speaking and writing test with no improvement (I scored 7 for writing and speaking on both tests), I began to wonder whether it was actually doable.
Fortunately, a friend of mine introduced me to IEDUC and the daunting task started to be more plausible.
Under the tutelage of Bu Dwi for writing and Miss Ayu for speaking, I began to understand what are the exact criteria that the examiners seek to bestow the coveted 8. Bu Dwi taught me various strategies to for various type of Task 1 and Task 2 questions and constantly encourage me to strive for perfection. Miss Ayu tirelessly and meticulously examined every single detail of my speaking and pointed out all the flaws and errors in my speech. She also came up with various exercises specifically aimed to improve my weaknesses, such as my pronunciation, intonation and fluency. As time went by, I slowly gathered the skills and courage to brave the challenge once again.
Now, while I am still a featherless human, flight is no longer an impossible task given the various tools I have at my disposal. While the task remains arduous and difficult, I am finally ready to defy gravity and nobody in all of Oz, no wizard that there is or was, is ever gonna bring me down!
Thank You IEDUC for all of your support.
